Born in NYC and raised in San Francisco, Athena Tergis showed an early love and talent for the violin. Starting with the Suzuki method at age four, she soon sought greater creativity and freedom in her music. This led her to Alasdair Fraser’s Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School, where she studied with acclaimed artists such as Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, Alasdair Fraser, and Buddy MacMaster. Her dedication shone through as she won the Junior National Scottish Fiddling Championship three years in a row, setting the stage for a remarkable musical career.
