Athena Tergis: Born in Manhattan and raised in San Francisco, Athena Tergis is a celebrated fiddle artist who has won the Jr. National Scottish Fiddle Championship three times in a row. Athena’s journey through music saw her moving to Ireland to immerse herself in traditional Irish music, joining The Sharon Shannon Band, and starring in Riverdance on Broadway. With a rich history of touring with notable artists such as Clarence Clemons and a long-term collaboration with Mick Moloney in The Green Fields of America, Athena’s performances are always captivating. Her solo CD, “A Letter Home,” has garnered international acclaim, showcasing her ability to connect deeply with audiences through her music.

Christy Leahy: Hailing from a musical family in County Cork, Christy Leahy is known for his energetic and rhythmic button accordion playing. His music career includes extensive tours with the acclaimed traditional ensemble North Cregg, releasing four albums, and performing at major folk festivals across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the USA. Christy’s style reflects the vibrant music of his home county, making him one of the leading exponents of the button accordion. His duet recording with pianist Caoimhin Vallely in 2010 received wide acclaim, further establishing his reputation in the traditional music scene.

The Weeds with Adam Hendey
